A group of unemployed nurses have been allegedly assaulted by the police after picketing at the Health Ministry for jobs. The nurses say they were asked to come for financial clearance which would allow them to be put on government payroll. But instead, they were cleared away by police in what is at least the second reported assault on unemployed nurses. Some showed minor bruises on their legs, hands and neck in the alleged physical altercations. Picketing at the Health Ministry has become a routine since 2015 after government austerity measures put a damper on public sector employment. Data Hacker Arrested

   Crime & Punishment The Cyber Crime Unit of the CID Headquarters has apprehended a 31 year old man for allegedly hacking into an online portal of a service provider and stealing data bundle worth GH¢115,000. Suspect Danny Gblonya, according to the police, later sold the data to unsuspecting customers at a cheaper price. He is said to have been doing this business since February this year. Briefing the DAILY GUIDE, the Director in charge of the Cyber Crime Unit, Chief Superintendent Dr Gustav Herbert Yankson, said On May 7, this year, the Internet Service Provider (name withheld) reported to the Cybercrime Unit that their online portal, where customers purchase data bundles, had been hacked and data bundle worth GH¢115,000 fraudulently allocated to some customers. We have increased fares by 10 % - Two Unions

Two driver unions, Concerned Drivers and True Drivers Union have served notice of an increment in transport fares effective today, Monday,May 28.  The drivers say the decision to increase the fares is due to the increment in petroleum products.  Spokesperson for the two unions, David Agboado said, although petroleum products have increased over a period, they have not increased the fares.  In interview with Nyankonton Mu Nsem on Rainbow Radio 87.5Fm, he indicated that the increment has become necessary ‘’due to the rapid and insensitive increment on fuel prices in recent times.’’ The drivers are planning to increase fares by 10 per cent and ‘’We are therefore left with no option than to share this unwarranted burden put on us by the government with our customers.’’  He expressed his frustration at the inability of the Road Transport Corporation to increase the fares as established by law. North Korea warns of nuclear showdown, calls Pence 'political dummy'
